that was a good way to watch it

  2. are you gonna post everyone’s point total

  3. Click the link for point totals!!

  4. Man. That’s the only way to watch the Oscars. It makes it actually fun to watch.

We should have an Oscar party next year with a $5 buy in. Hee hee. To bad we’re not on the west coast where it actually ends at 9 PM.

Oh and DAMN YOU RISS!!!! I was inching closer until the anvil dropped on my head. PT I WAS PULLING FOR YA! But hey, at least No Country is a damn good film.

  5. Whoa, I didn’t even know what my points were! It did make it a lot of fun and I’m definitely down for the party next year. Maybe we’ll have our big tv by then and we can have it at our house. Party at the winner’s house?

  6. *clap clap clap!!!*

    and a go! go! go!

it was really fun watching it that way.

  7. i concur! it somehow made the 3 1/2 hours bearable. except for some categories i totally forgot who i voted for.

    party party! with buy-in. TOTALLY.

  8. All I have to say is, Bourne!?

Capitol Swell had the crazy back door on that one. I remember laughing at those noms… I still can’t believe that beat There Will Be Blood at editing. Not to say it was a bad film, it just seemed like a random film to be in that category.

Dammit. Need to go back to computer and redesign my voting strategy for next year. Hee hee.

“M” You came out of the gate ahead then went into a quiet slumber. Riss was like a monkey on the back.

  9. ooo…ooo..aaa..aaa! My strategy was part guessing and part scientific. I tried to put myself in the mind of the academy. I actually did vote for No Country because I thought it was the Best Picture, most unique story. I also love Peter and the Wolf. I really thought Swell was going to win and the early stages m was right there with me. I’ve never won a pool in my life so I guess I should only join the ones where I actually view the content (unlike the super bowl or march madness ones).

  10. Man. That was fun. I’m trying to make it better via some google docs form or something. Easier to input. Not to tally.

    Congrats to riss, again!

She predicted all major awards, most of the minor ones as well.

I’m gonna have to tweak the formula for next year.

  11. this year had good movies and good actors and good directors and good screenplays, etc. all in all, it was a hard decision every time u put a bet down. but im gonna consider Riss’s strategy next time. next time: yes. i’ll play. =)
