Trying to get a jump on the Apple presentation today, DaringFireball goes over the Engadget rumor of the latest MacBooks. Looks to be the real deal here. We’ll know for sure by this afternoon. But it doesn’t excite me. I wonder if they’re gonna announce a new MacMini.

    but it does look yummy. and the specs look yummy!

    I think there pretty lame actually. I mean it has a decent speed bump/memory bump, but other than that… eh.

    Kind of dissapointed they got rid of glossy. I hate how some people are being called whiny bitches for saying certain things. But shit… the old Powerbooks were ahead in design and portable “Pro” products. But now they’re shedding things. For instance you have to pay for an adapter on the “Pro” now to drive a monitor… WEAK. No Matte Screen… SUPER WEAK! Also the screen on the pro isn’t full HD! Uh what? I don’t mind that there’s no firewire on the Macbook. But only one FW port on a “Pro”… “Pro” is dead. WTF Apple. PRO is dead. At least there’s still the express slot. Even their new 24′ monitor is gloss only. Super WTF.

    I noticed that they already include the memory in the price too… lame. Can’t go el cheapo. =)

    Maybe 2nd gen of the new gen will be the sweet spot… like 3rd gen super phone will be. =)

    I mean the updates are cute and all… but I think I actually prefer the refurb of previous gen. I like the old silver keys. But I dig the new case design. Also you can access the Hard Drive easy. Maybe if you want to swap for a Solid State drive. Pretty sweet.

    Overall… it’s alright.

    Can’t argue with that. That’s why Apple is gaining in the market place. All I ask is that they listen to the Pro users out there. That’s all I care for. I could care less about the rest of the line. Just give us a matte option again.

    I too would like matte brought back.

    And black aluminum. It looks like the Pro is just the bigger MacBook.

    Maybe PowerBooks will come back for the “power” users.

    Black aluminum = super sexy

    blue aluminum with back lit white keys = super cutie hottie! Which is just my type. =)
