Link of the Day [7.27.10]

Should I replace my wired mouse with the new MagicTrackPad? Most of my cursor manipulation with Apple products is based on touching: iPhone, my Mac Book Pro. The mice I use are only hooked up to my computer at work (sucky Dell boxes) and to the Mac Mini (the Intel Mini is replacing the PPC!). By replacing the mouse at home, it will be nothing but touch on a personal level.I'm just about to make the change. I think it may help reduce repetitive stress disorders from using the mouse. It costs $69 plus state taxes and shipping charges. I'm buying it, as long as I don't have to go to the Apple store.http://www.apple.com/magictrackpad/

  1. I ordered it this morning. Heh.

So stoked to chuck the mouse that slides off my desk from time to time. The only thing I wish it had was an option to power it through the USB on my keyboard.

Can't wait to get it though. Been wanting something like this for a while since love using the keypad on the macbook pro.

  2. Not sure if you read the fine print though…

"Mac OS X v10.6.4 or later"

Gonna make the jump to 10.6?

  3. Yeah. I;m gonna get it but am waiting until i get back from VA beach this weekend.

As for going to 10.6.4, then it doesn't run on a PPC chip, so therefore…

Are the new monitors any good?

  4. They look nice, but they need that mini DVI thingy, which I don't have. Oh well. Supposedly there's no adapters that are backward compatible. I could get a new Graphics card, but I like my graphics card.

Yeah, sadly PPC is reaching end of days.

  5. meh.

Been using a wireless mouse for a couple of years now and while it's cool and sorta convenient, they go through batteries and that's not really cool.

They should produce a rechargeable mouse – that would be cool.
