That is why the Watchmen matters coz they stopped, they didnt need to expand their lives into immortal superhuman beings. they stopped at being themselves and growing old.
These immortals dont grow old yet they have this repetitive lives with repetitive nemesis. I cant imagine the end of them, yet I cant imagine "X-Men Forever and Ever" series when I've got kids.
Ive got to have the old comic books and let my kids read them instead. Uncanny is the real X-Men story for me. Origins et al is just the alternate reading. They've got good new-age drawings though.
But then my kids will read my old Superman and Superboy comics. Thats what I have anyway. Go DC!
