Mt. Fuji (Extended Edition)

This is the extended edition to the previous post. Most likely it’s the one they watched in studio. Surprisingly, this is the first of its kind from the show — a long, uninterrupted journey with the members. It’s also the first time I believe we’ve really gotten an extended glimpse of these newest members. Again, their effort really makes me happy. If you’re not a fan after this, I don’t know if you have a heart.

Fujisan

Well the rumors were true. Fifth generation climbing Mt. Fuji.

I’ve always loved these episodes — part of the hit campaigns. The ones that they go climb Mt. Fuji are especially favorites. This episode has Nogizaka’s 5th Generation members doing the climb. Amazingly they all made it up to the summit — in fact they went further than any of the members going to the real summit and not just to the last lodge at the summit. It seems fairly easy, but I am sure there can be some more difficulty.

Here’s the reason, I love the group.

20 Years of Richest

I remember sliding the CD into my car’s CD player and absolutely falling in love with the songs on this disc. I had just made the turn from Borders in Timonium onto York Road heading for the beltway. At night and the orange glow from the sodium halide lights just contributing to the atmosphere of the opening song, Heaven’s Gonna Burn Your Eyes. For the next month or so, it was always playing. I figure that it was my favorite album for the longest time. The remix album came out the next year with my favorite version of Resolution. I believe I have mentioned that I would love this album to be playing at my wake.

Give it a listen. Thievery Corporation’s Richest Man in Babylon.

“Dave, please, I don’t think now’s the best time to regale you with stories of my world famous root beer jacuzzi.”

Because the first post of September didn’t follow the rules for News Radio Quote Month, then the first post of the next month, which should’ve been the last post of last month, will be last News Radio quote you’ll get until next year! It’s my blog so these are my rules which I don’t follow.

Anyhow, let’s enjoy idols going to watch baseball games. Here’s Hazuki and Yuna-chan watching a Chiba Lottte Marines game versus Seibu Lions from Saitama. I will enjoy it a lot.

“Dave, we have got to get rid of that security door.”

Link of the Day [9.2922]

Damn. It’s late in the day for a post of the day. I should wait until tomorrow, but I read this and found it really a great take that I want to share it with you.

Brexit. My favorite topic. It is where Conservatives got what they wanted, and they still don’t know what they want. They also don’t know the harm it will do.

The worst is still upcoming considering that when it becomes apparent that Brexit and the wellspring of stupidity that is the Conservatism from which it sprang is going to wreck Britain, they will double down. More of the worst from some of the worst people in the world.

All I know is that to be a Conservative in this day and age is toxic and dangerous to your country.

I am looking forward to more of this collapse. My popcorn is ready. The flames of Brexit will warm our hearths over the winter.

“If I increased the budget every time morale was low, the guys in my asbestos factory would be driving around solid gold Cadillacs by now.”

I spent the usual hour on a Sunday at my local Barnes & Noble. I bought a book, a cook book, and some ice tea in bags. It was all on sale about 40% off because they are closing out the store. In month, they will be moving into their new digs just across the parking lot. They’re downsizing and converting to a different store format.

If you’ve been in an brick and mortar Amazon bookstore, then you’ll know what it will be like. It will be an end to wandering on Sundays amongst the shelves just browsing for everything and nothing. It will be the end of white mocas because they will no longer have a cafe. It will be the end of the semi-annually Criterion sale because they will not have music and video section. It will be a smaller selection of books to browse. It won’t have the bookstore feeling anymore to it. It will be just a store.

It will save me money, but I’ll be more sad. I won’t have a place to wander around anymore. I won’t have a place to go when bored. It’s an end of an era.

Quote of the Day [9.21.22]

“What users really want is good tools. They want systems that are easy to learn and easy to use, and that help them do their work. They want software that doesn’t slow them down, that doesn’t trick or confuse them, that doesn’t make it easier to make mistakes or harder to finish the job.”

Larry Constantine, “What do users want?”

“In the future, it might help if you located the source of your rage before you unleashed it on the world.”

In honor of the rumor that Nogizaka46 5th Generation members were seen spotted climbing Mt. Fuji, here’s a solo climber showing what they’re up against. It doesn’t look quite as daunting considering all the amenities along the way, but still attitude sickness is no joke.

If the rumors are true, Nogizaka46 will have climbed Mt. Fuji three times. The first two were associated with their “pray for a hit” campaign for their singles. Although, for the 5th Generation, it is off schedule for the 30th single as they’ve wrapped up the campaign. Unless this effort is supplemental to the previous one.

If you want to look up their past climbs up Mt. Fuji — they’re great as they show you great effort and you’ll cheer for them, then seek out the hit campaigns for their 10th single and 24th single. You’ll know why I love them.
