「Same numbers」

Kaki Haruka is the center for Nogizaka46’s 39th single, Same numbers. Available in a couple of weeks, July 30th.

It’s Kaki’s fourth center and third as solo. I had thought she was being left behind, but they gave her this. Will it be her last?

Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium

明治神宮野球場 — Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium has seen legends. Babe Ruth played there. The current occupants, the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, have recently won the Japan Series — NPB’s version of the World Series, in 2021. And it is Nogizaka46’s home field as well.

Like I said, legends.

I write this post every summer, because once again Nogizaka46 is going to hold concerts there in September. It is my Mecca. Actually, watching Nogizaka46 there is my Mecca. I doubt that I will ever, but I can dream with the members.

The song is Summer Day (Manatsubiyo) off of their upcoming 39th single. I hope you enjoy it.

Nothing in particular, but here’s the quick link to Nogizaka46 member’s birthday playlists. It’s none of the member’s birthday. At least I think it isn’t.

You say you can’t read Japanese, then just go ahead and pick one. They’re all good even if you can’t understand Japanese. Would I do you wrong?

Oshima Rion was the best Japanese weather caster on WNN, Weather News Now. She was also an F1 fan. I had the biggest crush on her when she was a weather caster. I still do. My favorite trivia about her is that she is a Nogizaka wota as well.

Anyhow, I hope you read this, because it’s great to see her pretty face again.

Yamashita Mizuki Jersey 2019 Summer Tour

How I prepared for Mizuki’s graduation concert this A.M. Wore this jersey! It don’t fit anymore, but I just had to.

卒業おめでとう!

そしてありがとうございます。

We Are Marching!

In honor of the kaiju dominating the theaters, let’s go with Atarashi Gakko! and their latest, Tokyo Calling. Now you may ask yourself how does this remind you of kaiju? Well, if you clicked through and listen, you will know. Yeah, it’s got visuals on a miniature set, but also the song itself reminds me of the Godzilla theme with a sprinkling of the Mothra theme.

Anyhow…

We are marching! We are marching! We are marching!

Save Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium.

My favorite idol group, Nogizaka46, call it home. Every year on their summer tour since 2014, they’ve had a show there. There have been many memorable happenings at these lives. Ikuta flown in on a copter. Fourth Year Birth Day Live’s rain. 2016’s Synchronicity dual stadium shows. Graduations. Falls. Rain. Rain. Rain.

One day, I would love to see my beloved Nogizaka at Jingu.

If it is possible.

Kubo Leads Samurai Japan

I’d like to think that it was Nogizaka46 and Kubo Shiori who kicked started Team Japan to a WBC win. Like I imagine that we should be getting memes of Kubo striking out Mike Trout. Come on internet. Don’t let me down.

Anyhow, I was rooting for Team Japan because my favorite idols were cheering them on.

“In the future, it might help if you located the source of your rage before you unleashed it on the world.”

In honor of the rumor that Nogizaka46 5th Generation members were seen spotted climbing Mt. Fuji, here’s a solo climber showing what they’re up against. It doesn’t look quite as daunting considering all the amenities along the way, but still attitude sickness is no joke.

If the rumors are true, Nogizaka46 will have climbed Mt. Fuji three times. The first two were associated with their “pray for a hit” campaign for their singles. Although, for the 5th Generation, it is off schedule for the 30th single as they’ve wrapped up the campaign. Unless this effort is supplemental to the previous one.

If you want to look up their past climbs up Mt. Fuji — they’re great as they show you great effort and you’ll cheer for them, then seek out the hit campaigns for their 10th single and 24th single. You’ll know why I love them.

明治神宮野球場

Link of the day because Nogizaka46 is back home at Meiji Jingu Stadium.

It’s been 3 years since they had performed there. Pre-pandemic, it was a yearly stop on their National Summer Tour.

I had bootleg from their last show there in 2019. I’ve lost it because I stupidly wiped my NAS looking for more space.

Anyhow, the final shows of this year’s National Summer Tour starts today (it’s Monday in Japan) the final two will be available on streaming. You know I will watch.

Nogizaka46 back at Jingu. Life is good.
