I really want to buy something from Erika-sama’s graduation concert. The t-shirt I want. I’ve got a Maiyan grad t-shirt. Need this one…

So, you’re saying, it’s going to be a long while before it gets better again?

A week or so after the lockdown in March 2020, I had set the B trip odometer to my truck back to zero to figure out how many miles I would drive during the lockdown. You see, commuting daily would be at least 60 miles a day. I would do about 320 miles a week in my truck with the commute and local driving on the weekends. For the year, I think I would do about 18,000 miles.
I was just curious to see how many miles I would put on during the lockdown. Of course, we’ve been out of lockdown for almost a year so this isn’t an accurate account of how many miles I did during lockdown. If I thought to have checked immediately, I’m sure the count would’ve been under 4,000 miles. But I missed that chance to record it.
For the record, it’s 8850.9 miles for the 626 days since the lockdown. It turns out to be about 99 miles per week, 433 miles per month, or 14 miles per day. Quite a bit less than what I did before the rona. Just a bit less.
Adam Jones staves off elimination with a home run to win the game and keep his team, the Orix Buffaloes, alive in the Japan Series. Let’s go!
I’ve been rooting for Adam as an Oriole and I am rooting for him as a Buffalo.

Journalists need to know we’re in troubling times. They need to not continue on doing the things they keep doing. No “both sides.” Stop.
One side is taking advantage of journalism to make democracy in America dead.
Journalists need to re-evaluate their profession. They need to speak truth to power and not to money. We all lose when they do.

Was it really thirty years ago that these albums came out? Yes. Supposedly this was the best release days ever. Others can make the claim. I don’t know. All I know is that I remember the day well.
I was still in university at the U. I was especially waiting for the new Tribe album. I went to a music store called Coconuts. On the radio was playing “Smells like Teen Spirit.” I could not find the Tribe album. It was all sold out. I would get it sometime later, but not that day.
Since this was so long ago, I may be misremembering it all and this happened on a different day.

I have no idea what this is, but since it is Nogizaka46. I’m there.
Of course, I’m not really there, since it is in Japan. I am really there in spirit.
An interview with the Ikuta Erika who plays Eponine in Les Miserables. Best girl.
Culvers really is the best fast food chain out there. Their fries are the greatest, but the burger is good, the fish sandwich is good, and the frozen custard is great.

I believe the last time I got my hair cut was perhaps a week before the state shutdown because of the rona last year. So even though I am balding, I was sporting some long hair at the end of these tumultuous times. Long hair was great and glorious running my fingers through it was the best.
Today I got my first hair cut in 14 months. I just asked for the barber to clean it up. She did and showed me. It was ugly. I wasn’t liking it. So I told her to cut it a bit more. She cut at least two inches off. Now I can’t put my hair into a ponytail. I miss running my fingers through the long hair.
The haircut looks good. Yet even as I sat in the chair, I wondered how long will it take to grow back.
Bald on the top, but long in the back. I was sporting an ugly rona mullet. I want to get that back…
