Quote of the Day [2.24.09]
Fuck it all and no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free

Paul Krugman, I link to him almost weekly, hits it out of the park
again. He excoriates the "centrists" of the Senate who doomed the
stimulus bill to almost comical mediocrity. I just wish he named names.
Collins (ME) *cough* Nelson (NE) *cough* Fools the both of them. Fools
for believing them.Obama's turn to the middle is terribly misguided. If I wanted some
centrist ideology in my president, then I would've voted for Mrs.
Clinton. There's nothing to gain in inviting Republicans to sing
Kumbaya with you. They're busy sharpening their knives. You dance with
them and you'll have a shiv in your back. The centrists are the ones
playing the dance music. The shrill one is back. Damn right, Paul. Damn right.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/09/opinion/09krugman.html?partner=permali

Paul Krugman today:"It's time for Mr. Obama to go on the offensive. Above all, he must not
shy away from pointing out that those who stand in the way of his plan,
in the name of a discredited economic philosophy, are putting the
nation's future at risk."I for one think the Democrats should be explaining to the nation how
deceptively evil Republican economic philosophy is. It's meant to
cripple government, but since government is the only entity that can get
us out of our current economic quagmire, it's meant to cripple the
nation, and by doing so destroy her. The dolts preach tax cuts in times of prosperity. They preach tax cuts
in times of trouble. The fucks preach tax cuts for almost anything.
Tax cuts will cure your cancer. They abhor government spending. Aren't we trapped in this terrible
economy because nobody wants to spend money on anything: businesses on
employees, consumers on goods, banks on their debt. But who's going to
do the spending now? Only the government can. It's capable of creating
the jobs just look at the fucks of the righ-wing noise machine. Without
government they'll only be howling about the weather.
My anger to this current affairs is because the Democrats and the
president should be shouting from the rooftops about the discredited
notions of Republican party. Eight fracking years and four before
Clinton should be enough to make the case. The president should, and
that's why this commity looking for bipartisanship is bogus. You
shouldn't be friends with people who are outright batshit crazy.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/06/opinion/06krugman.html?partner=permali

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2009/02/dire_news.phpDear President Obama,Was it really just three weeks ago that hope was in the air? Now,
you're playing with this idea of "bipartisanship" and it's killing you
in helping to fix the economy. If you haven't realized in your two
decades that Republicans are not meant to govern, I hope you realize it
now as the economic stimulus bill stalls in the legislator. Republican
governance means destroying the government. They do it be doing bad
policy, and when out of lead roles, they do it by stopping anything from
going forward. We're fucked and they like it that way.Signed,

Today’s Paul Krugman op-ed is good:
And to protect and defend the Constitution, a president must do more than obey the Constitution himself; he must hold those who violate the Constitution accountable. So Mr. Obama should reconsider his apparent decision to let the previous administration get away with crime. Consequences aside, that’s not a decision he has the right to make.
If there is one thing wrong with Mr. Obama, it’s that he’s still beholden to the status quo as regards to being the leader of the US. Being PUSA means being in a small, select club. There have been only 45 of them come next Tuesday, so it’s probably best to not mess with what the club deems a good thing. You have to protect your own kind, and all indications seem that Mr. Obama will do just that.
This re-establishes that the PUSA is above the law, and above the Constitution, a fact that the most heinous presidential administration believed. If the president elect does not endorse an inquiry into these past eight years, then he’s embracing the most embarrassing presidential administration’s beliefs and endorsing their criminality.
The PUSA isn’t better than you or me, a regular citizen, when it comes to the laws of the US. We are all equal under the Constitution. By not acknowledging that his predecessor flaunted and broke those laws, Mr. Obama sends the message that the office of the President of the United States is above the law and is king in his own land.
Our founding fathers are rolling their graves right now.
To watch Wall St. come crashing down is very fascinating. It makes you
angry and sick thinking about it all. The more you think about it, the
more "the market" seems to be a big scam. It's greed I tell you. There
is no higher goal within "the market." It's just to make money for
myself, and if you so happen to make money with me, then good for you,
but I can't care if you do or not. While I understand that "the market" gives us jobs and makes the world
churn, I hate it for how indescriminate it is. There is no hard work
there. It's plain luck and who-you-know that'll make you money. You
bring to "the market" your sense of morals and it will reward you with
what it sees fit. It's too bad that those who choose the life of
working "the market" are unscrupulous bastards.http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/
I just bought a PSP to play my Macross Ace Frontier. Shopping for gifts, I think I’m actually on my own gift list.
Starting it up I had to configure it for the first time. I need to set the date. I need to set the time and time zone. I need to choose a user name. All this is done using the controls of the device. When it came time to enter a name, I was trying to type on the screen! WTF! There’s no touchscreen on this thing! For the price, that sucks.
Anywhoo, it’s one of the worst experiences trying to use the built in web browser with only a control pad. URL entry is torture. I suggest you give the prisoners in Gutanamo free internet access, but the PSP as their input method. They will confess to killing JFK just for want of a normal user experience.
Thank the kami-sama for iPhone for soon every handheld device will adopt the touch screen.
I hope that the Bush name goes down in infamy. President Fucktard son of President Fucktard. President Fucktard has son, President Fucktard, Jr.
I hope that America doesn’t ever elect another President Fucktard.
It just kept going and going…
