Computers Suck

Jay runs into issues with his RAID drive. The Seed running into issues
with his desktop. We already know about his issues with his laptop. I'm running into some issues with my own TiBook. Watching DVDs has now
become an adventure. I think it has to do with overheating of the
drive. When running the TiBook gets pretty hot. I usually place it in
my lap so there's no air circulation for it. It runs hotter. Play a
DVD and it'll run even hotter still. The TiBook overheats and the DVD
drive stalls. This causes a complete lockup of the machine. Reboot but
it doesn't mount my Users partition. This sucks, and it has only gotten
worse. Before it was just one every hundred DVDs. Now it seems like
every DVD would cause this. I guess I need a new MacBookPro!http://onocoffee.blogspot.com/2007/12/damn-you-raid.html

While searching for links to the previous post, I had come across this bit of greatness. I wanted to use it, but it didn’t fit the tone of that post.

My favorite episode. My favorite character, evah! One of these days. I plan to watch every episode of The X-Files that I have on DVD and maybe comment on it. One of these days.

Or perhaps October can be The X-Files quote month. Erm. Probably not as it’s already a chore for NewsRadio Quote Month.

The Seed gets a Mac Mini hoping to get his mom all excited about the future.

Good luck to that.

I doubt that Tita Mina will ever want to get the hang of computers. Why should she? She’s got The Seed in the basement to do that for her.

My mom is almost computer savvy. She can do email, and surf the web. But get her to do something like post her pictures online and that won’t happen. She knows about computers. She’ll only know as much as needed. She doesn’t even know the difference of quitting a program and closing a window. She lives in the Windows world. O, well, at least she’s online.

Know if only I wasn’t tech support.
