Google Image Search

Google is freaking me out. Lately, most of the random visitors here are reaching via Google Image Search. It’s bumped up my stats slightly at the expense of making the search terms more weird and more focused on cute asian girls. The images of Nozomi, Kim Ha Yul or some other such cutie are getting pushed to the front of the image search results. Dang it’s weird. Here’s today’s search terms.

Why my season tickets are close to the field

Look who nick threw the ball to #Orioles on Twitpic

Foul balls were flying my way all night long. Close to last years seats. In fact, I most likely would’ve been the one reaching for the one that bounced back onto the field in the fourth.

I seem to get a ball every year. This one in the bottom of the eighth. Markakis catches a routine fly to right field. Since most of the regulars in my section were not there, I had moved over a couple of seats to hang over the right field wall. Markakis runs in as he does he looks my way. I do the international gesture for “throw me the ball:” hands go up.

He tosses it my way as he goes by! I am such a kid.

I had my camera in my hand so I almost crushed it while catching the ball.

One of the better moments in a dismal 5-1 loss at Camden Yards. Orioles are kind of lifeless right now. They’ve reverted to the mode they were in at the end of 2009: cruise control. We need the pod people back.

When Titles Collide

Over at The House Next Door they are doing a movie title mash up. What’s that you say? Take titles of movies and string them along together, jumble their respective plots, and there you have it.

Don’t get it, then sample some of them there or read a few of mine.

Apocalypto Now. — A pre-columbian epic wherein the protagonist must kill the head of the crazy Mayan tribe.

Se7en Samurai — A Japanese village enlists the help of ronin samurai to catch a serial killer. The english translation doesn’t work: “Kikuchiyo” doesn’t mean “what’s in the box.”

Repo Man on Fire — A man goes after the people who reposessed his car with deadly force.

Repo Manchurian Candidate — The sequel wherein the man gets his car but unbeknownst to him under the careful scrutiny of a secret society leading him to kill a presidential candidate.

The Rules of the Game of Death — A kung fu movie set amongst the french upper class. Passion and action ensues.

Do The Right Thing That You Do — Racial tension on a hot summer day boils over when a band on the rise loses it’s way.

The Hills Have Eyes of Laura Mars — After her eye surgery Laura Mars’s car breaks down in a remote place, she’s attacked by mutant savages, but thanks to the serial killer eyes repels them.

See that’s easy. Your turn.

Toogle

Toogle a cool use of Google photos. Conducts a search for an image, and then uses the search term to create an ASCII version of the search result.
