It’s an idol anime group in which one of the members blew up fandom because she was born in America. Ans she sounds American. But the thing is that on her SHOWROOM you can really talk to her. In fact she answered my question which is the first time in any of the idol SHOWROOMs that I’ve watched that that happened. Because she understands English. Also, she’s cute AF.

Link of the Day [9.22.17]

I had usually let my off Fridays be the days I watch a movie. If I was in Japan, I know what I would be watching… Asuhinagu 「あさひなぐ」。　 A film featuring members of Nogizaka46. It’s related to a manga of the same name about a naginata club and the girls who practice it.

Nishino plays the lead. Shiraishi is the beautiful senpai. Ikuta is their rival.

They also had it as a stage play this summer. Perhaps a different story, and it had different Nogizaka members.

Anyway I haven’t seen it yet. But I’ll give it 5 of 5 stars because of Nogi members!

Link of the Day [9.19.17]

Movies are dying. No one goes to the theatre. We like to stay home and watch on our streaming service. But we are only watching the new stuff. Classic films are already dead, but they are dying a second time. Not too many movie watchers want to watch something from the 70s let alone the 40s. Not too many streaming sites want to carry these old films.

Is there nothing to be done? All we can do is lament their passing. Long live classic films.

I wash watching Nogizaka’s 3rd Gen closing out Tokyo Idol Festival 2017 on YouTube when word came out that our beloved Himetan, Nakamoto Himeka, announced her graduation. Fudge. It ruined the show.

Himetan! Nooo! I hope it wasn’t because of health reasons. And I hope it wasn’t because she didn’t make senbatsu for the 18th single. But why? I am sad. Now we don’t have 46…

AKB48 opened there ticket booth to international fans. It’s not like I’m buying anytime soon, but it’s nice to know that you can at least try to get tickets. The mother ship, AKB Theatre, is probably a tough buy. I would try for one of the sister groups out in the sticks, perhaps NGT48’s or HKT48’s theaters in Niigita or Fukuoka respectively.

Maybe I’ll try on my trip to Japan…

Have you thought about the best movies of the 21st century? We’re only 17 years in, but there have been many, many good ones. Run a search for “5 of 5 stars” on BrowserMetrics and you’ll find a few.

CatWoman? How’d that get in here. Never mind. Ignore my 5 star ratings and find some on your own.

Nogizaka46 3rd Album, 「生まれてから初めて見た夢 」, “The Dream I Saw the First Time Since I Was Born.”

Get it.

Got it.

I don’t think the new songs are as good as their first two albums. The songs sound too much alike. The only saving grace is that there are some funky units, member pairings, that make for some interesting songs. I’m always up for alternative member units.
