May’n & Nakajima Megumi – Diamond Crevasse

It’s a crying shame that we can’t get any more Macross outside of the US. We’re missing some great stuff like Macross F.

This is just a beautiful rendition of Diamond Crevasse. It wasn’t a duet, and it wasn’t strictly accompanied by a piano, but getting May’n and Megumi (the VA of Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee respectively) to sing is just plain awesome. If you have the time and the need you should check out the concert that this is from. There’s plenty of it on YouTube so get your fingers a-clicking.

Dance in the Battlefield

Here’s an easy listening tune from the 2005 OVA anime, Area 88. Just love how night lounge-y the song is. Wish I knew what the lyrics are about and why it sounds as if she’s yearning for a love separated.

Before You Steal It

I keep trying to play this on my guitar. Not this cover version, but the original by The Black Keys. It’s straight up 3 chord song, but it needs the distortion of fuzz. Anyhow, I think I like this song better than the previous.

What about you?

A rocking cover of a rockin’ Black Keys tune, Lonely Boy, featuring girls on acoustic guitars? Sign in to blogger and post it for a morning music coffe break.

I’m kind of digging it! Hopefully so are you.

If so get up and party for a morning music coffee break!

Never Do

The only version of this song I can find is one without the hilarious popup notes. Now it looks like a regular rap video which this was trying to make fun. Clearly its potency has been emasculated.

Do you remember?

You really have to dig down deep into your geek cred to get this one. In fact, you may have grown out of liking this, but you, in your inner little geek, have to admit that Macross was awesome. You’ve grown up and may have missed Macross F from which she was the “Minmei.” Now that, you’ve got to admit is awesome.

We are done. The album ends on my favorite tune. You should hear the remix. Thievery did release a remix of some of the songs on this album. Get it as well. Or maybe that will be the next album for a fusillade of music.
