Link of the Day [3.24.17]

Sorry about the bad video below, but that’s a fact of life when embedding YouTube videos in your blog. Most every Nogizaka46 video I’ve posted has been taken down. Sony makes it tough being a foreign fan of the best idol group in Japan. To make it up to you, please buy their latest single from the iTunes store. It’s probably their best, most solid single to date. And that’s coming from a big fan of the 13th Single which is strong from Type-A all the way to the Regular Edition.

“Influencer” was officially released in Japan on the 22nd. I’m waiting for the CDs! I can’t wait to catch the member PVs. It’s the only reason why I buy them. This time I paid the shipping tax to get these discs sooner. I’m thinking that they will be here before the member photo books I ordered at the start of the month come in.

プンプンプンプンプン

It’s the latest Nogi single coming out next Wednesday. I’m about to purchase it, but will most likely pay the shipping penalty. It’s double the price, but it will be worth it.

Link of the Day [2.24.17]

My love of all things Nogi leads us today to a report from the newish members, 3rd gen. You see they were involved in a stage play called 「3人のプリンツパル」or ‘3 Principal Members.’ Principal, as it is called, involves the members presenting themselves to the audience in the first act. They do a self-introduction and some sketches then some improvisations. Afterwards, the audience votes on which member will be acting in the second half. Finally, there is a third act involving all the members doing a mini-live.

There have been 3 Principals involving the original members. The second generation seems to be the red-headed step child and did not get there own to do. Only a select few of second generation members participated in Principal.

It’s a big thing for Nogizaka. I’m happy to hear that they passed through this challenge successfully. That’s what today’s link reports. Anyhow, if you’re curious, then you should click through. Perhaps, run it through Google translate, which I did, in order to read it. That is if you don’t read Japanese already.

乃木坂46のヘビーローテ

Nogizaka46 doing a cover one of their official rivals biggest hits, “Heavy Rotation.” It’s almost all of the fukujin from the 17th Single. It’s missing my oshi, Ikuta. She’s off doing some musicals, being an actress, and getting closer to reaching her goal: musical actress.

Today is also Hoshino Minami’s birthday! I wish her a happy 19th. We need more bagels, please!

Link of the Day [2.02.17]

I’ve been reading today’s link through Google Translate. It’s a website dedicated to sakamichi series and Nogizaka46 more. It’s because they have some serious articles about my favorite idol group. Really serious articles. Enough that I wish I could read kanji enough to understand what is being said.

Bookstore Haul II: Volume3 — The Fox God

The Fox God has smiled on me today. I found the Funko pop for Su-Metal at my local bookstore. She now joins Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal on my mantle. I’ve had the other 2 since the end of 2015, and I have been on the lookout for the lead singer of BabyMetal since then. It’s taken me a year but she finally popped up. Unsurprisingly, I there were more Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal figures there. I was almost gonna give up, but checked around the store once more and found her, staring me in the face. The Fox God is good.

On another note, Su-Metal is Nakamoto Suzuka. Her sister, Nakamoto Himeka (Himetan), is an idol in my favorite thing, Nogizaka46, and it was just announced that she will go on hiatus because of unspecified health reasons for the latest 17th single. I am more of a fan of Himetan because I am more of a fan of Nogizaka46. It will not be the same without her lovely and energetic Himetan Beam. The 5th Year Birthday Live is going to be a tad bit sadder. I am hoping she has a speedy recovery so that she can continue to deliver her Himetan Beam.

Zepp Diver Sometime in 2014

Awesome live from Nogizaka46. Judging by their uniform this was around KidzuKata, their 7th single. They did the full version of the song rather than the short 3 minute versions. It’s hard to find a live of the full version, so consider yourself lucky, and you can even catch a glimpse of Yada Risako who was a kenkyusei for a short time.
