Down with whites

Never could stand white sneakers. Unfortunately, white is their predominant. Yeah, it makes it hard to buy sneakers, then. I don’t like white sneakers, because once you get them dirty, they become ugly.

But I can’t stand black sneakers, they make your feet look tiny. Black is also sneaker’s second most popular color. The set of sneakers I can buy gets smaller and smaller as I shop.

I went sneaker shopping today and bought a pair of grey Adidas. Now there’s a color to like. This pair are running shoes. I looked at some casual Sperry slip-ons, but no size 9. They have 9 1/2, which were a tad too big. I would’ve liked to have compared the 9 to 9 1/2 just to see if they felt better. I then found the Adidas (9 1/2) that I bought, but I am completely underwhelmed with them. I still bought them as I like the brand and the color, but I kept searching for another pair.

I checked out tennis shoes. What a difference! They fit and feel better than running shoes. I’ve been deceiving myself all my life. Because tennis demands white, all tennis shoes are white. They don’t have another color except black — the two colors I can’t stand. Yet, now I have to get a pair of white tennis shoes because they feel so much better than the running shoes that I’ve been buying.

My prejudice has been arrested. White it is.

Batteries has ceased

The electronic age has ushered in plenty of cool gadgets, but keeping them up and running takes plenty of batteries. More AA! More AAA! More 9 volts! More rechargeable lithium! Just a proliferation of batteries that I have a hard time looking forward to a new gadget.

My MacBook Pro is over two years old. It needs a new battery, because the old one’s charge leaves me with an hour when unplugged and doing nothing. Thirty minutes if I access the hard drive. It got the new battery.

I just bought a new guitar pedal — Line6 Verbzilla, for that sweet, wet reverb sound. It needs a 9 volt battery. It got a 9 volt battery. Then I left my guitar plugged into it for 3 hours. It got another 9 volt battery. My other guitar pedals got 9 volt batteries as well. I may have to get another box of 9 volts for next week when I’m done with these.

My iPhone batteries last 20 hours of normal use. I turn off the wireless at work and gain 2 hours. I turn off 3G while sitting in the lab enclosed in metal. I gain 2 hours. And still I have to recharge iPhone every day.

I’ve gotten sick of my battery issues that I’m taking the charge on the battery of these gadgets to their empty point. For iPhone, I even have to play some of the downloaded games or a movie to get it to shut down.

Batteries! I can’t wait for wireless power!

Tweet Blogging

Because not every one is on twitter…

I’m watching Twister and wondering how many named actors can be thrown in this flick.

Jan De Bont, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!

Tweet Blogging

This should actually go as a tweet rather than a blog post, but IniTech blocks "social networking" sites. I'll have to post it to my blog.I'm actually listening to The Blue Hearts album. The problem is that the titles of the songs are in kanji. I have no idea of the song I'm listening to. I'll just have to rely on their punk-rock energy to enjoy.

Once again. With feeling.

I had promised not to do this anymore. I’m weak like that. Pretty weak.

June 25, 2009

We were on vacation.

She had sent me a book. I flipped through it didn’t know what she wanted me to see.

I called her up.

She sent me a video said it was something. I had it playing on my iPhone. She called me several times. I saw it popping up on my visual voice mail one after another. I start going through that book looking for the page she wanted me to see.

I go to the pool. I come back and decide to call her up. I’m outside trying her line. She’s not picking up.

It was raining. I drove by their vacation home. She and her family were sitting in the car. I drove past and moved on turned left to go back home.

Yeah, this will is getting boring quick

Dear Kami-sama,

Get us out of this infinite loop! Help!

BrowserMetrics

PS. We’re into the fourth week of this story arc. I loved it the first to times. The third time last week. Not so much. It’s gonna repeat again? Yikes! Haruhi-sama, please stop! Kyon-kun’s gonna agree to go out on a date with you. I’ll do the same, if you’ll just make it stop!

For she is kami-sama

It’s been three years since the original showing of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was broadcast in Japan. It has been a long wait for the second season. As you know, I’ve been waiting, then not waiting for the second season.

At first the original season was going to be broadcast, but this time in the chronological order similar to the story path in the light novels. This is when I explain that the original broadcast order was funky with the first four chronological episodes, the literal light novel story, where interspersed with other stories from the SOS Brigade.

It seems like they’ll follow chronologically the story so it will take a while for the second season to be fully released

If you can’t wait like me, and don’t want to get your bit torrent client up and running, then you can follow along as the new episodes of Haruhi are release by reading some anime bloggers.

More Old School Than New

If you love movies, then I’m sure you love TCM. It’s celebrating its 15th Anniversary this month. They got normal folk as guest programmers to do some of their own favorites this month. I just saw some of “Gone With The Wind” and “Double Indemnity” is coming on tonight. Woohoo. Tivo asplode!
