Is that the one you want?

I was looking for that figure of Melissa Seraphy. You really can’t find it in any of the comic shops. I leave the last one, and she walks in. Seifuku and moe beyond belief. I can’t stop but I turn around, keep going, and wish that I had a pony. I wonder if she’ll find the figure she’s looking for? Not my Melissa.

Shopping. I can’t stand it, especially in the mall. You stroll around and around circling endlessly until you decide to call it a day.

Me? I like the internet. No hassles. Easy. You just can’t touch what you want to purchase or get a good look. If it’s a figure, then good luck. You’ll have to go by the pictures, and those being from the manufacturer they’ll be done as best as they can be.

Link of the Day [8.31.08]

On Friday, I asked for a link to Obama”s acceptance speech, and m came through with the youtube link. (Thanks, m!) So imagine my surprise that I checked out iTunes and found a free, nice downloadable version of the speech. Yippee! No more pixelated video, and you can put that on your iPhone/iPod to watch whenever or wherever.

Today’s link gets you to the selected speeches of the Democratic National Convention. They’ve added just the audio of the speeches as well. Enjoy and vote Obama!

Quote of the Day [8.02.08]

“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main… and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.”

Walt Disney

Get out the vote

Hillary Clinton wins in West Virginia and she argues that only she can beat McClown in the general elections. She is getting in the way of the chance to destroy the Republican party and muddling up the picture.

The goal of this year’s elections is to destroy the quaint notion that the Republican party and current conservative thinking are the best way to producing a great nation. The Democrats should be hammering this meme everywhere, every day, every time. They need to discredit their opponents, so that the nation can understand that the destructiveness of the selfishness-inspiring Republican thought was what directly contributed to the worst eight years of the US.

Yet, Clinton is still in it. Her presence now gets in the way of presenting the American citizens that the Democrats can lead the nation to greatness again. With her there, the Democrats can’t even lead their own party to greatness. It makes the message hard to decipher.

The nation is looking for kicking out the Republicans from office from state to national seats. Yet, the Democrats can’t capitalize at the most significant post, the president. Why should the nation replace incompetent and corrupt Republicans, if the alternative is just as incompetent? And Clinton still in the race makes the Democrats look it.

Just get out of our way, so that we can start kicking some Republican ass.

I like riding my bike for recreation. I am sure I would love riding my bike for transportation. If only we can be serious about our transportation infrastructure, then maybe we can create a country with choices for moving about. I’m not advocating for bikes, but for a practical and sensible approach to our future needs.

The Streets Blog discusses “livable streets.” It’s a good resource to read for ideas about sensible uses of our streets for a better living.

Green and lean

This is nice thing to hear about. Oregon representative Earl Blumenauer introduces some resolution to aid in making bicycling a viable means of transportation in the US.

We need some of this type of stuff so that a)we begin to mitigate our reliance on gasoline, b)we offer ourselves an alternative means of transportation, c) we give ourselves some exercise to win our own fat war, and d)we make nicer communities.

Yo, CapitolSwell! Get to work!

Brrrinnnggg! Bbrrrriiinnnngggg!

I should’ve kept up my Cocoa skills. Damn two years is a long time. Plus the damn dev environment went from 2.0 to 3.1 during that time.

One of things I’ve been doing is watching all the iPhone getting started videos. They’re slight in their information, but they give a very nice gloss on the state of iPhone development. It’s something every one should do. Also, it’s funny because some of the presenters were also in the Big Nerd Ranch class, too.

Anyway, this shit is cool!

Baby, Baby, Please.

Dear Dana,

Where have you been these last 10 years? What have you been doing? Have you settled down with that guy with the awfully fake first name, whats-his-face, Renard Muldrake?

Is the kid doing alright? He’s still on planet earth and not snatched up by aliens? Or the syndicate? Or our own government?

Are you still working in the FBI? Or have you gone private practice? Become your own agent now, have you?

One thing, don’t ever leave me. I’m sorry for being forgetful. The truth is out there. I’ll be there for you. To fight the future. I want to believe. Just don’t leave me again. Please.

Love,

The Untitled X-Files Sequel released some photos from which I got the one above. Thanks god, Scully’s back
