Let’s All Go NogiEigo!
Behind the scenes with everyone’s favorite Nogizaka46 English teacher and Nick. It’s a great interview to see how it all worked out. It’s great.

Here you go. Have this earworm. You don’t know what’s being said, but it will be in your head all day.
You’re welcome.
Lyrical School coming at us soon. Dropping this week I believe. Get your yens ready!!!
Summer songs seem to know no borders.
I can feel the heat rising off the black top. I can smell the ocean. I can feel the sand between the toes. And this is Japan?!

Ikoma Rina has announced her graduation from Nogizaka46. I first read rumors yesterday morning and had to wait for Japan to wake up in order to get the official announcement. Today’s link is straight from Ikoma herself. She’s moving on, but she’ll still do entertainment. I’m hoping that to see her have a stellar career.
Idol graduations are inevitable. They still are surprising though.
I’m posting this, but it is danger of becoming another dead YouTube video in my blog because of Japan. But I don’t care. You need Nanase in your life. I would like to have gifs made of some of these scenes. They are already gifs, but they need to be converted from YouTube video to a gif file. Off to find a gif maker!
Nogizaka46’s 19th single released on Japan’s iTunes store. Get it. Or don’t. Or wait like me for the physical release of the CDs next week. Got to get the bonus DVDs.
Link of the Day [9.22.17]
I had usually let my off Fridays be the days I watch a movie. If I was in Japan, I know what I would be watching… Asuhinagu 「あさひなぐ」。 A film featuring members of Nogizaka46. It’s related to a manga of the same name about a naginata club and the girls who practice it.
Nishino plays the lead. Shiraishi is the beautiful senpai. Ikuta is their rival.
They also had it as a stage play this summer. Perhaps a different story, and it had different Nogizaka members.
Anyway I haven’t seen it yet. But I’ll give it 5 of 5 stars because of Nogi members!
Ramen. I can go for some now. I wish America embraced it like we’ve embraced sushi, but I know some people who don’t believe soup is a meal. Ask Jerry Seinfeld.
Anyhow, don’t watch all these videos or you will be craving some ramen. But if you do so happen to watch and then crave some ramen, hit me up and we’ll go looking for some around town. If we don’t find any, let’s go to Japan.
My Ex and Whys is an import from the motherland. Like all films that I have seen from the Philippines this one is a sappy romantic comedy.
The girl who has been traumatized by her father’s infidelity from her mom is looking for a guy who will always be faithful. She finds one who eventually disappoints her. She puts on a bad wig and becomes a blogger: the bakit list. Her tweets are read by millions and she spends her times fighting the gender wars.
There were some nice touches to the film which I liked: the guy’s household of males all horn dogs including his father, the chase in Seoul, blogging as a respectable profession. There were things I did not like: the filipino movie cliche of the gay dude, blogging can take you places. And there were things that were plain awful: that wig of hers. It was so bad that they made the guy wear it as well.
3 of 5 stars.
