Head Held Up High
We like to play the guitar even though we suck at it. Not like this guy. He’s having fun. We have fun, too. Play a guitar. Play an instrument. Play for fun.

Ue o Muite Arukou or its title in English, Sukiyaki, was part of the soundtrack to From Up on Poppy Hill. The song really doesn’t have anything to do with sukiyaki does it?
Anyway, watch the movie or listen to the song, and feel the melancholy.
An aside, the tune was the basis for an American hit in the 80s. A song whose lyrics form the basis of one of rap’s greatest hits, La Di Da Di.
It’s all because of you.
I’m feeling sad and blue.
You went away
And now my life is filled with rainy days.
I love you so
How much you’ll never know
‘Cause you took your love away from me
I haven’t seen Empire Strikes Back in a long time, but I can follow every line of dialogue even in Japanese. Funny that. This is a clip of Norio Wakamoto as Lando Calrissien. I figure he may be a famous Japanese voice actor. I guess he does a fine Lando, but someone tell me who’s doing Leia. So Kawaii!
If this is one of those links that will make you shake your head at me, then don’t click it. But if you like all things kawaii, then go right ahead.
I read somewhere that Japanese girls aspire to be kawaii. They even try at the office. Nice.

Here’s a little confession… I dig OL!
Gogo Yubari as a housewife, ex-spy, private investigator? Yes.
Sure. I’ll watch that.
“He who warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms, by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.”

Oh, you’re still here? I thought that you would be off following the music break video and surfing the related YouTube videos spending the hours upon hours lost in the world of anime song covers.
You didn’t? Well, good.
Let me send you on another journey into the land of the rising sun. This one is another excursion into its music scene. I wonder if this is J-POP or J-Rock? Who knows but since I wanted to see K-ON! videos. Here’s a real live all school girl band. Well, they’re not school girls anymore. They’re rockers! (In school girl outfits!! Yes!)
Once in a while, you just have to want to blow up the earth, because earthlings are foolish in their ways. We hate and hate and annoy and hate and despise one another that it’s a miracle that we are still here. We have to stop and remember that we all inhabit this world and there is no place else to go.
Be excellent to each other….
Who doesn’t like cute girls running around your computer screen in the morning? Is this better than coffee?
I had always thought that those asian girl groups where too big. I still do. You can barely tell the girls’ voices apart in this song. It’s tough to put faces to verses. They’re all starting to look the same: cute!
Korean always sounded harsh on my ears. Looking at these girls while they sing, now it doesn’t.
The internet coughs up some funny. I am only through act one, scene one. I can’t wait for the Irish monk, Brother Seamus.
