The Scourge of Copyright Claims

They leave your blog with the dead gray tombstone of an empty YouTube video…

One of these days, I’ll go and clean them up. For now though, I’ll try to post a few more times to move them off the front page. LOL!

Consider this one my first attempt on a slow summer Saturday night. Move the dead on down a page or two.

Pizza Box Saga

This past Sunday I received an email from FedEx saying my package had shipped from somewhere in Virginia. I’m thinking to myself, “what did I buy?”

No idea. So I check the usual sights Amazon, Patagonia, Huckberry, to see if I had purchased something lately that was on hold.

Nada. I let it slide. “Hunh? Must’ve been something back ordered.”

Yesterday, FedEx rings my door bell and place a box on my doorstep. I wave to them as they get in their van. This is rather bigger than I am expecting. I thought it was going to be the replacement for a terrible gift from work mis-purchased.

It wasn’t. It was a box of boxes. Pizza boxes. The small size for when you’ve already ate most of the full size pizza. Eh? WHY?

So I go check on my bank accounts to see if they’ve been compromised. Nothing purchased on anything out of the ordinary.

Is this a joke? I search the internet for “pizza box pranks.” I seem to remember that there was one once, but that may be wrong. Receiving these boxes is definitely wrong.

This morning in my email there’s another FedEx message alerting me to another delivery. Again from Virginia. Oh, man it was a prank! And I’m going to get pizza boxes for the rest of the month! Nope. This time this delivery was something else. Thank kami-sama! It wasn’t pizza boxes! Maybe I have escaped…

Now do I send them back?

Bookstore Restore

It’s been a while since I visited the bookstore. I was there today and bought a book! (Actually, I went last week but there’s really nothing to report from then.)

First, they changed the layout of the store. I walked in (last week) and the shelves were moved around so that I don’t know where the genres were any more. I walked about re-familiarizing myself with a place I’ve been to hundreds of times.

I went for a book on BBQ. We’ve got a smoker. I want to know the best secrets into making savory smoked foods, so I picked out a BBQ guru, Myron Mixon’s book, BBQ&A with Myron Mixon. Hopefully, I learn his secrets and start making some yummy BBQ.

We start some ribs in the morning!

The World Looks Skateable

An interesting video from Vox about legendary skate spots. I haven’t been on a board in 20 years and I feel like going to these. Seems like, though, that they’re all have been demolished. Nothing stays the same. Like my skating career. It’s history.

Covid-19 Days – 137

I cannot believe that I may have to start this up again! Things have not gotten any better in the US. It’s gotten worst. Can you believe it?

It’s almost like we don’t really want to fight the rona. We just want to pretend that nothing is happening, and we are willing to sacrifice whomever to this thing.

I don’t get it. Why are we so stupid? How can we have gone through the first half of the year and not make any progress? How can we not want to win this battle?

It was all for naught.

And a little bit of Maiyan for your day…

In some kind of Shrodinger state, not quite graduated, but all but graduated. You look and you can’t tell. She still shows up as she has in this performance. Maiyan, I love you, but I’m ready for post-Maiyan Nogizaka. Still, she’s as radiant as ever

I Did Buy Some Hot Sauce

Yes, I did. Bought ’em from that site on that “Link of the Day” earlier this month. And since I have no movies to review because there are no movies in theaters anymore, I guess I’ll go about and review a purchase made on the whims during the season of the rona.

Anyhow, I purchased the following:

I’ve only really tasted the first two on food. The third one I’ve tasted just to see how hot it was. The last one is still sealed. I guess that this “review” will cover the first two.

My favorite and the one I’ve used the most is the mustard. I’ve put this on my hot dogs — Polock Johnny’s sausage. It was great. Slightly hot on the tongue, but then the heat kicks in later. The Heatonist gave it 4 of 10 on the heat scale. I guess that’s correct, because I haven’t gone for the high end of the heat scale. It is hot, but flavorful.

The Humble House concoction was described on the site as sriracha-like. Yes, it does taste similar, but it doesn’t have the same heat on the tongue as the sriracha with the rooster on the bottle. The Heatonist gave it 3 of 10 on the heat scale. Yes, I agree as well. Maybe a 2.5? It’s not that hot. I also put this on the polish sausages thinking it would be like spicy tomato ketchup. I want to try this in a ramen. I guess I’ll buy some cup noodle to try it.

Adoboloco’s is heat on the tongue. I guess that’s to be expected of the ghost pepper. I’m not too sure what to put this one on. Perhaps some grilled chicken? Ooo! Fire up the barbie!

I’m looking forward to feasting with these hot sauces. I’m also wanting to buy more, but the fridge would be filled with them, and I need the space for other things. Why don’t you go buy some and let me know if these fit your palate? Or go buy some others to let me know if they’re worth it.

Talking About The Weather

It’s bugging me. Staying indoors. The outdoors has been beautiful since the rona had hit. The weather has made it difficult to stay inside. Too nice. Except if you go out, you die. STAY HOME!

It was never really hot and unpleasant so far this summer. Maybe a few days we’ve reached into the 90s, but we haven’t had that week where it’s been 90 and humid everyday. It makes it fun to go out for a walk. I’ve been doing that plenty.

It was a nice spring. Always a pleasant and cool day. Not too much rain either. I think although being in doors makes it hard to judge.

I wish the weather was worse. It would force everyone back in doors. We need for you to stay home to stop the spread of the rona. You do it now and maybe in the winter we can go out again. But wear a mask.
